The Overarching Strategic Goal
The Rössing Foundation strives to sustainably contribute to the improvement and upliftment of targeted communities. The Foundation’s strategic goal for the period 2023 to 2027 is to make a significant contribution towards the transformation of lives through community empowerment and innovation in Namibia.
The Strategic Objectives
Our overall aspiration of “Transforming Lives through Community Empowerment and Innovation” is aligned to the national and sectoral developmental objectives articulated in the Vision 2030 of Namibia, the Harambee Prosperity Plan, and the National Development Frameworks. Our aspiration is directly responsive to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.
The Alignment
The Rössing Foundation’s Strategy 2023-2027 reflects Namibia’s developmental priorities set out in the Vision 2030 – Policy Framework for Long-term National Development, the 5th National Development Plan (NDP5), the 2nd Harambee Prosperity Plan, and related sector plans of Education, Agriculture, Health, Environment, Forestry, Lands, Poverty, and Water and Sanitation.
Our strategic objectives are directly contributing to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. Our outcomes will serve to identify specific outputs and key annual results of the various sectoral plans, and the Regional Council Action Plans.
Our interventions are aligned to international standards and declarations such as the 2022 Youth Declaration on Transforming Education, the African Union Water Vision for 2025, the 2007 United Nations’ Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, and the 2022-2032 African Union Climate Change and Resilient Strategy.
To date, our transformation agenda charted a path for the new 2023-2027 Strategy towards an evidence-based, results-focused, accountable, and impactful Rössing Foundation that is fit for purpose.
