To secure the sustainability of quality education, the Rössing Foundation also has a series of other interventions, each of which in its own right addresses another aspect of the complex interwoven pattern of establishing the envisaged sustainable centres of quality education in a community. The programme offers the following interventions:
- Early Childhood Development and Pre- Primary Programmes should be run by the community and relevant authority. The classroom-based and centre based support approaches are used.
- To increase parents' involvement in the education of their children, they need to pay tuition and other related fees. Those who are not able to pay should pay in kind.
- Initially, Grade 10 and 12 learners participate in the After-school Development Programme to meet the short-term goals, but the long-term strategy covers the overall School Support Programmes from Grades 1 to 12.
- The Foundation is to assign subject experts to schools to work hand in hand with class teachers and, by doing so, build the capacity of teachers and learners alike.
- Rössing Foundation tutors support the Vacation School Programme for rural mathematics, science and English teachers, as well as for those in school management and leadership.
- Rössing Foundation subject experts offer their support in the mathematics and science Olympiads.
